What you give us, where it goes when the AI cooks for you, and how to get it back.
By using receita. you accept this policy. It describes what we hold, and — because this is an AI product — what leaves our servers to be processed elsewhere.
What you give us, and why.
The user is solely responsible for any and all information provided on this site. receita. will process the data for purposes of providing services and administrative and commercial management.
In practice that means: the account details you register with; the cooking profile you fill in — dietary restrictions, allergies, nutritional goals, calorie and macro targets, preferred and disliked ingredients, appliances, kitchen type, cooking skill, and the age, height and weight you choose to enter; your pantry; the recipes, meal plans and shopping lists you save; the meals, photos and weights you log; and the conversations you have with the AI nutritionist.
Your inputs are sent to an AI provider.
receita. does not run an AI model of its own. To generate a recipe, a meal plan, a shopping list, a diet suggestion or a chat answer, we transmit your request — together with the context needed to answer it — over the internet to Anthropic, the provider of the Claude models. Anthropic processes it on its own servers and returns the result to us.
Depending on what you ask for, that request may include:
- the text you type — the ingredients you have at home, what you feel like eating, and your messages to the AI nutritionist;
- photographs you upload — of your fridge or pantry, a supermarket receipt, a plated meal, or a nutrition label — sent as an image for the model to read;
- PDF cookbooks you upload for import;
- your cooking profile: dietary restrictions, allergies, nutritional goals, calorie and macro targets, preferred and disliked ingredients, appliances, kitchen type, cooking skill, and the age, height and weight recorded on your profile;
- when a request needs them, your pantry contents, your saved recipes, your recent nutrition log and the health metrics you have recorded;
- in a shared household, the combined dietary restrictions and allergies of every member, so that a plan can suit everyone at the table.
We do not send your name, e-mail address, password or payment details to the AI provider.
This information does not stay on your device — generating a recipe requires sending it to the model provider.
Photos sent only so that something can be read from them — a fridge, a receipt, a nutrition label — are used for that single request and are not kept by us afterwards. A photo you attach to a logged meal is stored with that entry until you delete it. Your chat conversations are stored in your account so that you can return to them.
For each AI request we record the model used, the number of tokens and an estimated cost, so that we can apply your daily usage limit and monitor spend. Those records contain no recipe text, no message content and no image data.
We do not use your content to train any model of our own, and we do not sell it or make it available for advertising. The AI provider processes it as our service provider, under its own terms. If you would rather this did not happen, do not use the AI features: the parts of receita. that do not generate anything — your pantry, your shopping list and your logs — work without them.
Who else sees it.
- Beyond the AI provider described above and the service providers needed to operate the application — hosting, file storage, e-mail and payments — receita. does not provide or make available to third parties the personal information supplied by users for non-stated purposes, in particular for profit or commercial purposes.
- receita. performs all regular procedures to preserve user privacy. We may, however, be required by law to formally disclose information to the competent authorities.
- The external use and disclosure of information from this site, when authorised, must reference the origin and authorship.
Cookies & non-personal information.
As with many other websites, our site may use cookies or other technologies to help us deliver content specific to your interests, process your booking or requests and/or analyse your visit patterns. Cookies alone cannot reveal your individual identity. This information identifies your browser, not you, to our servers when you visit our site. You can remove or block cookies at any time via your browser settings.
