  • kimchi1 cup, chopped
  • eggs4 large
  • soy sauce2 teaspoons
  • sesame oil1 teaspoon
  • green onions2, sliced
  • rice2 cups, cooked

Preparation

How to cook.

Prep 15 minutes Cook 10 minutes 2 servings
  1. Soak chia seeds in 1/2 cup water for 10 minutes
  2. Cook rice according to package instructions
  3. Fry eggs sunny side up
  4. Chop kimchi into smaller pieces
  5. In bowls, layer rice, soaked chia seeds, kimchi
  6. Top with fried eggs
  7. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil
  8. Garnish with green onions
  1. Add rice and water to bowl, cook 20 min/100°C/speed 1
  2. Remove rice, set aside
  3. Without cleaning bowl, add eggs, 3 min/80°C/speed soft
  4. Assemble bowls as in traditional method

Tips.

  1. Let chia seeds soak until they form a gel-like consistency
  2. Use aged kimchi for stronger flavor
  3. Eggs can be poached instead of fried
  4. Add gochugaru (Korean red pepper flakes) for extra heat
  5. Can be served hot or cold
